The Big Pencil to Big Walker Charity Ride (formerly the Big Walker Century Ride), is a fundraising bike ride through the country lanes and scenic byways of southwest Virginia.  The ride begins near downtown Wytheville and the iconic Wytheville Office Supply "Big Pencil" before heading out through the pastoral counties of Wythe and Bland with one, two or three climbs of Big Walker Mountain.

This year's ride returns to the third Saturday in June and coincides with the kickoff of the Chautauqua Festival. Hot air balloons may once again fly above the start of the ride and there will be plenty to do in Wytheville afterwards! Click on the festival link above for all the info.

Proceeds benefit HOPE, an umbrella human services organization delivering housing and anti-poverty programs to the southwest Virginia counties of Wythe, Bland, Carroll, Smyth and Grayson and the city of Galax.  Click here to learn more about HOPE.
