Registration is open for the 2016 Big Pencil to Big Walker Ride (click here to register online at Active Network), with all registrants to again receive a free cycling jersey. The jerseys are designed by the renowned cyclist Scottie Weiss, with Starlite Apparel. Our metric century ride offers three climbs of Big Walker Mountain, just north of Wytheville, Va., near the intersection of I-81 and I-77. This epic ride starts in downtown Wytheville, in the shadow of the Big Pencil hanging over Main Street at Wytheville Office Supply, one of our key sponsors.

For the first time, we are offering a King of the Mountain timed ascent of the first climb of Big Walker, with several categories of prizes available.

Share the flyer with all your friends and local cycling clubs (pdf).

Hope to see you in Wytheville on Saturday, June 18, also the opening day of the annual Chautauqua Festival in the Park, an eight day family oriented arts and music festival.

Proceeds benefit HOPE, an umbrella human services organization delivering housing, food security and anti-poverty programs to the southwest Virginia counties of Wythe, Bland, Carroll, Smyth and Grayson and the city of Galax.  Click here to learn more about HOPE.
